Training support
Across the horseracing industry there are organisations and initiatives that offer careers and training guidance throughout your career – from a new starter to your retirement. They are free services and are there to help you reach your full potential and to enjoy a long and happy career in racing.

The Careers Advice and Training Service (CATS)
CATS is a dedicated careers service for anyone working in the British horseracing industry. It is funded by The Racing Foundation. If you want to progress in your role or move to a different role in racing but are unsure how you can do this, CATS can help you.
They can help you with training and funding applications, finding job opportunities, preparing job applications, CV writing and interview preparation.
If you have a question or would like support with anything related to your career or training, please call the CATS support line on 0800 6300 443. This is the 24-hour Racing Support line.
You can live chat or email a question via the website cats-racingwelfare.co.uk too.
Careersinracing
The British Horseracing Authority, through its brand Careersinracing, supports the recruitment, development and training of those who work in horseracing as well as those who want to enter the industry. It provides information on training and careers for those racing grooms who want to move up the ranks in their yards or to progress into other roles in the horseracing industry. It also has a free industry Job Board where you can find vacancies in racehorse trainers yards.
