Don’t ride? Don’t worry, you can still play a very important part in the training of racehorses.
Not everyone can or wants to ride racehorses. You can still find work as a racing groom and strive to become a yard manager.
The British Racing School and the National Horseracing College run training courses for yard managers. You will find the work is varied and interesting from helping to break in young horses to swimming them and leading up at the racecourse. Not riding will give you more time to get to know the horses on the ground and create a bond with them. Go to our ‘Trainer Locator’ now and email one of our trainers to see if they have a job for you or contact the racing schools to ask when their next courses are.
