If you’re thinking about a career in racing and ready to explore your options, an open day is the ideal next step for you.

British Racing School (BRS)

Located on the outskirts of Newmarket, the heart of British horse racing, the British Racing School is an educational institution that celebrated its 40-year anniversary in 2023.

Upcoming open days 

On a BRS open day, you’ll see their world-class facilities, interact with their horses and gain a deeper understanding of the dynamic and thrilling career opportunities within horse racing.

Where you’ll do your training 

If you decide to apply and enrol for a course at the British Racing School, you’ll be based at a purpose built training centre on the outskirts of Newmarket, the headquarters of British horseracing. With extensive grounds and state-of-the-art equipment, it’s the premier training facility in the country.

Northern Racing College (NRC)

The National Horseracing College is well-established and valued as a centre of excellence for the horseracing industry.

Upcoming open days 

Open Mornings at the National Horseracing College (NHC) are designed for parents, guardians, potential learners, and career advisors to find out more about the NHC and the wide range of courses available.

  • Friday 25th Oct 2024 – 10:15am-1pm
  • Friday 22nd Nov 2024 – 10:15am-1pm
  • Friday 20th Dec 2024 – 10:15am-1pm
  • Friday 24th Jan 2025 – 10:15am-1pm

Where you’ll do your training 

You’ll be based at the renowned Rossington Hall in Doncaster, which has gallops, simulators, and arenas, all on-site.

The Scottish Racing Academy (SRA)

The Scottish Racing Academy was formed in 2019 to enhance horseracing education and training provision in Scotland and the north of England.  They have created a series of innovative new qualifications which have been written to provide choice to learners whilst nurturing talent.

 

Where you’ll do your training

  • Borders College

The Scottish Racing Academy has partnered with Borders College to deliver specialist racehorse qualifications.

Borders College operates from three main sites Galashiels, Hawick and St. Boswells and is the regional college for the Scottish Borders.

  • SRUC

The Scottish Racing Academy has partnered with Scotland’s Rural College to deliver the SCQF Level 5 National Progression Award in Racehorse Care from its Oatridge campus.

Oatridge campus stands on its own 283-hectare estate in the West Lothian countryside and is home to the Scottish National Equestrian Centre (SNEC) – a new state-of-the-art venue for equestrian sports and activities.
